First Grade

Mrs. Murphy is starting her 14th year of teaching. She has taught Kindergarten and First Grade, and has a passion for teaching young children. She is National Board Certified and has been named Teacher of the Year in two previous schools. Mrs. Murphy enjoys spending time with her husband and three kids. She is excited to be co-teaching this year with Mrs. Rosa! She looks forward to a great year!

Adriane Shimfessel is a first grade teacher at Edward Best Elementary School. She has taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First grade. She is married and her husband also work for Franklin Count Schools, at Bunn High. She has 2 wonderful daughters and loves teaching in Franklin County!

Stephanie Valencia was raised in Franklin County, NC. She attended the University of Mount Olive where she received her degree in Elementary Education in 2018. She has been teaching first grade at Edward Best Elementary since then.

Mrs. Warren is from Wake Forest, North Carolina originally. After graduating from Barton College she moved to Louisburg where she began her teaching career at Edward Best Elementary. This is her 8th year at Edward Best and all of those years have been in 1st grade! Mrs. Warren was named Edward Best Elementary's Teacher of the Year during the 2022-2023 school year!
